TRT starts DVB-T2 4K trials in Ankara

It is my pleasure to announce that, according to the tweets & news, Turkish Radio & Television Corporation, the public broadcaster of Turkey, starts DVB-T2 4K trials in Ankara.  It is quite interesting as there is still no DTT network in Turkey. TRT 4K is the only channel on DTT trial.  It is broadcasted on 56. channel of UHF band. As far as I know it is one of the first DTT 4K trials all over Europe.  TRT 4K will broadcast the openning, quarter, semi & final matches of the European Football Championship.

Finally, Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, the public broadcaster of Turkey, has officially announced the re-start of the DAB tests in Turkey. At a meeting where the 4K broadcast was announced the General Manager of TRT, Mr. Şenol GÖKA, has declared their interest in DAB.  There is also an article in a magazine of TRT Radio , in which the details of the tests are explained.  I hope that this tests will be the first steps for a digital radio in Turkey.

EBU, declared on 4K UHD

European Broadcasting Union, EBU published a policy statement on 4K UHD. On the first page of the document there is a statement: This document contains an important and fairly complex statement. It may only be reproduced and distributed in its entirety. Partial quotation is strictly forbidden. That's why I will not make any partial quotation. The document is very important.  As far as I understand it is a warning to the TV sector. The uncertainties cost a lot to all parties. To consumers, to broadcasters and to equipment manufacturers.  Hence, the industry should immediately come together and clearly define the 4K UHD implementation parameters. Otherwise, this chaotic situation will harm everyone... note: Photo is from Chili, Santiago.
