e-interview with CuttingRoom

Q1. Could you kindly provide a succinct overview of your company and the solutions showcased during IBC 2023?

With our cloud-based video editor, we make the process of capturing, editing, and publishing content seamless. CuttingRoom lets you capture content directly from live streams, our iPhone app, or any of your connected cloud sources, and collaborate in real-time when editing. Our many integrations make it quick and easy to upload footage from your external cloud servers and publish content directly to your favorite media platforms. We aim for our solution to be powerful & professional yet easy & intuitive,  and we pride ourselves on getting feedback from our many customers on just that.

Q2. Among the solutions presented at your booth, could you specify which one garnered the most visitor attention, and could you offer insights into the factors contributing to its appeal?

CuttingRoom won the TVBEurope Best In Show At IBC 2023 Award for our solution. We saw that people visiting us at IBC had primarily three problems to solve, bring down cost and complexity, bring up the speed and effectiveness, and turn video production collaborative and remote enabled. We also showed our new mobile app that adds the capability to bring in content from the field quickly and easily, which caught a lot of attention at the exhibit.

Q3. Does your company currently engage in any business activities within the Turkish market? If you can share, could you provide some insight into your plans for expanding your business in Turkey?

We are grateful for our customers in the Turkish market. We see it as an important market, and one we would like to expand even further in the year to come.

Q4. Is there any additional information or insights you would like to share regarding your company or your participation in IBC 2023?

Since CuttingRoom is a SaaS solution with many pre-integrations to cloud storage and cloud MAM systems, it is very easy to get started. You don't need to set up a large project for it to go into production.

Mr. Helge Høibraaten, co-founder of CuttingRoom,  thank you very much for your answers and hope to meet you in other events or in Turkey.

This means creatives can now use AI to create the shape and depth of 2.5D environments, then import them into Disguise. The result is a plug-and-play scene that can be executed on an LED stage in only two minutes. This allows anyone to tell immersive stories, no matter the production environment or virtual art capabilities they have, saving weeks of pre-production work. “Real-time environments look spectacular on-camera, yet often require many hours of artistic and technical build,” said Addy Ghani, VP of Virtual Production at Disguise. “Thanks to our partnership with Cuebric, there’s now another option. I have been writing on Digital Terrestrial Television, in Turkish , for a while. I have been blogging since 2004 and have posted more then 1200, 80+ are on DTT. It seems that I have to keep posting. This time I will try something different. I will post in English. Hope this post will help the progress of DTT.  FTA Satellite is the market leader First of all I want to discuss about the need of DTT. Because as the DTT progress fails, people had to choose other ways of TV reception, mainly DTH satellite. Nowadays if you ignore the presence of digital cable and IPTV, which of both add up just 10%, people in Turkey are watching the TV signal which they receive over satellite. As I have posted on previously the FTA is another dominant of the TV market in Turkey. PayTV is just 27%, if we take the total number of houses as 20M, which may be more than 20M. People tend to think this FTA offers will last forever. So they believe that there is no need to build a new DTT network, which w...
