e-interview with Ad Signal

Q1. Could you kindly provide a succinct overview of your company and the solutions showcased during IBC 2023?
Ad Signal was founded to address the need for fast, accurate and independent linear advertising. However, we have become so much more than that. Our sustainable fingerprinting technology now underpins a suite of products designed to deeply understand the content you hold, saving cost and carbon in the process.
We showcased three key SaaS products at IBC 2023:
Match Using our environmentally friendly fingerprinting technology, Match lets you quickly deduplicate your content regardless of format, codec and resolution. It also allows you to run AI on your content with >25x the granularity but 25% of the cost and carbon.
Harmonise Further expanding on the uses of our fingerprinting technology, Harmonise creates a genealogy of content, improving edit and rights management workflows, and ensuring you always know where every shot and second of audio originated
Compose The first system that fully automates the creation of IMF from traditional versions, speeding up and adding resilience to distribution or archive workflows. We also offer Compose ABR, allowing you to optimise ABR feeds so that they only contain unique content, saving you up to 80% of your CDN cost and carbon.

Q2. Among the solutions presented at your booth, could you specify which one garnered the most visitor attention, and could you offer insights into the factors contributing to its appeal?
All three of our products generated a fantastic response at the show, but many organisations were particularly enthusiastic about the deduplication potential of our Match product. There is a huge issue of duplicated content across the industry, known as “versionitis”, and Match provides an unrivalled ability to get on top of this problem within your content library, and flatline your storage costs and carbon consumption for the next 3-5 years.
We believe that this enthusiasm comes from a renewed interest in tackling issues of sustainability in the media and entertainment industry, and we are proud to be leading the charge on true, meaningful progress beyond the carbon offsetting programmes popular today.

Q3. Does your company currently engage in any business activities within the Turkish market? If you can share, could you provide some insight into your plans for expanding your business in Turkey?
We are not currently active in the Turkish market, although we did have some very interesting conversations with TRT at the show. In all new markets our top priority is collaborating with established partners in the local industry to ensure we truly understand the problems facing each market - we would welcome contact with any media & entertainment companies within Turkey that are interested in exploring the cost and carbon savings that our suite of SaaS products can provide.

Q4. Is there any additional information or insights you would like to share regarding your company or your participation in IBC 2023?
Carbon consumption in the tech industry is a growing problem, contributing around 2.3% to global CO2 emissions, and video content accounts for 70-80% of that. However, currently businesses need to make a trade off between moving the need on sustainability and keeping control of costs. With Ad Signal products, this compromise is no longer necessary, as you can save costs , while also meaningfully reducing your carbon footprint.

Thank you very much for your answers and hope to meet you in other events or in Turkey.
