Tender for National Licencees are suspended in Turkey

It is surprising to learn that Court has decided to suspend the tenders for national digital terrestrial television. Supreme Council, made an announcement stating this decision. It is not yet clear what will happen next. I mean, national licensees are key point in the DTT transition process. Because the share holders of the antenna company should have the national terrestrial licensee. Another interesting point is that according to the law number 6112, RTUK can not organize a new tender for national broadcaster as in the law it is stated that all tender processes should be completed within 2 years time.
What will happen next is the main question in minds. I believe that Parliament will make a change in the law and give permission to RTUK to organize an new tender. But, Parliament is closed now. So, this will take time.
Actually, whole process will take time. It was planned to start DTT broadcast in Ankara on 1'st of November. It seems that we should wait a little bit more.
I hope to meet all, at the Levira's Fresh Connections event. I will comment on this new development also. My presentation, namely Turkey... Finally launching DTT, will be on 22 of August at 12.15 - 12.30. You can find the program here

I think that it is the most powerful way of being seen by the authorities. So the strike of railway when I came to Amsterdam was something I already know, thanks to my dear friend BM from UK. But the long ques that all of us waited at Schipol when we were trying to quit Amsterdam, was not because of a strike at all.  The overpriced restaurants, twice / sometimes triple times priced hotels, cosy but noisy city center... I can understand all of these, but can not understand standing in que for 3 hours just to exit the country. So I, once again, offer IBC to think Istanbul for IBC 2023.  I believe you all know that Istanbul with its two international airports, train & ferry con
