BBright unveils a new Ultra HD baseband playout server with HDR support for 24/7 linear UHD services

BBright continues its incursion in the Ultra HD playback market by introducing the cost-effective UHD-24/7 quad 3G-SDI playout server accepting various pivot file formats for unlimited playout event scheduling, targeting linear broadcast channel, IPTV operator and OTT distribution.
BBright, a French start-up that specializes in 4K / Ultra HD and HEVC video technologies for broadcasters and network operators, has already won significant market shares in Europe, North America and Asia with its leading UHD-Play video file player. The UHD-Playis now considered as the reference Ultra HD source for tests and trials. Following this commercial success, BBright now moves on to the next technological step with the introduction of a 24/7 playout server dedicated to be used in Ultra HD channels head-ends.

The new UHD-24/7 features quad 3G-SDI outputs, Level A / B (both in QFHD and 2-Sample Interleaved pixel modes). Several 4K / UHD pivot file formats (XAVC, H.265, H.264, …) are accepted at file ingest. Full-HD progressive files can be up-scaled in real-time for Ultra HD playout. HDR schemes are natively supported with PQ10 and HLG compatibility. A 24/7 daily – weekly - monthly playout event scheduler allows for a complete linear channel scheduling (including BXF traffic file import). Multiple logos insertion and workflow automation are also parts of product features.
